This way if your host goes down for an extended time, there’s nothing you can do if you have the domain registered at the same location. By having hosting and domain registration (and with an off-site backup) separately you can get up and running on a new host in minutes. You purchase a once off version which does most things and then have the option to upgrade to the template club which is what we subscribe to.
